Welcome to the Walnut Creek Village. The Village is a member-supported, non-profit, community-based network that provides independent living resources, referrals and community connections and activities for those of us who choose to “age in place” in our homes, instead of moving to a retirement residential community.
WALNUT CREEK VILLAGE'S SECOND ANNUAL SOCIAL
Sunday, November 6, 2:00 - 4:00 pm
With all of the wonderful features Walnut Creek has to offer - its proximity to Bay Area culture, mild weather and beautiful Diablo Valley location, family-friendly downtown, great schools and libraries, and flourishing arts community -what more could its residents want?
As a city that's comprised of more than 26.6 percent seniors, Walnut Creek needs more focus on its growing community of elders - to assist them in maintaining safe, vibrant and healthy lives through supportive resources and social connection. To this end, a team of dedicated local citizens has been working over the past two years to create Walnut Creek Village - a member-supported, non-profit organization that can provide personal concierge-style resources and volunteer services, as well as a socially connected community.
Please join us on Sunday, November 6, 2:00 - 4:00 pm at Heather Farm's Lakeside Room for a fun, free social event where you can find out more about the "Village Movement" that's sweeping the nation, and how you can get involved locally in the Spring 2017 launch of Walnut Creek Village.
What: A free community event celebrating seniors in the greater Walnut Creek area; musical performance by folk duo Celtic Grey; complimentary refreshments
When: Sunday, November 6, 2016; 2:00-4:00 pm
Where: Heather Farm/Lakeside Room, 301 North San Carlos Drive, Walnut Creek 94598
